What is an AI-Lego-Block?
An AI-Lego-Block (ALB) is the atomic processing unit of ERN-AI. Each ALB is a micro-scale neuromorphic element derived from honeybee neurology, operating at roughly 1000× lower power than equivalent frame-based processing, trained on local micro-data, and executing device-natively.
Do I need to replace my cameras to use ERN-AI?
No. ERN-AI is a software layer that runs on the digital CMOS camera infrastructure already installed. There is no requirement for new sensors, new silicon, or changes to the existing hardware stack.
How much compute reduction does ERN-AI deliver?
In proof-of-concept testing with a 10×10 ALB array configuration, ERN-AI demonstrated approximately 500× compute load reduction relative to frame-based processing of the same video input.
Does ERN-AI work in low light?
Yes. ERN-AI performs event-driven motion detection and classification in conditions below 5 lux without using infrared sensors or IR illumination. This was validated in proof-of-concept testing.
Is NuMorph AI a competitor to BrainChip, Innatera, or SynSense?
No. Those companies build neuromorphic chips and hardware platforms. NuMorph AI builds software that runs on such hardware as well as on conventional CMOS sensors, making the relationship complementary rather than competitive.
How is NuMorph different from event cameras like Prophesee?
Event camera vendors sell new sensor hardware, which requires replacing installed cameras. NuMorph delivers event-driven behavior in software on cameras that are already deployed, removing the hardware replacement cost and the migration timeline.
